Privacy Policy for FocusDriver

This Privacy Policy explains how FocusDriver (the “App,” “we,” or “us”) handles information when you use the App. The App combines a focus timer with simulated driving journeys. It does not provide real ride-hailing services and does not require a separate App account.
1. Information we process
Focus records and App progress. The App stores session start and end times, duration, selected virtual city, journey origin and destination names, selected vehicle, and record identifiers on your device to provide history and statistics. It also stores virtual reward balances, reward and vehicle unlock records, and preferences such as city, vehicle, icon, background sound, map view, and camera settings. These journeys describe simulated activity within the App, not your actual travel history.
iCloud synchronization. When you are signed in to your Apple Account and iCloud is available to the App, the App automatically synchronizes focus records, virtual rewards, unlocked vehicles, and supported preferences through Apple CloudKit’s private database. It also stores the account record identifier provided by CloudKit locally to identify the synchronization account and prevent mixing data between different accounts. We do not receive your Apple Account password. Some device preferences, such as language settings, remain local.
Map requests. The App uses Apple MapKit to display maps, search for cities, look up places, and plan simulated journeys. Relevant features send information such as the visible map area, search text you enter, and simulated route endpoint coordinates to the mapping service to obtain maps and route results. The service provider may also process technical information needed to deliver its network services, including IP addresses and device and request information. The App does not request device location permission or read or track your live GPS location. Vehicle positions on the map are determined by simulated routes and focus progress.
Feedback you send. If you contact us by email, we receive your email address, message, and any attachments you choose to provide. The in-App feedback feature prefills an email draft with the App version, build number, operating system version, and device model to help diagnose issues. You can edit or remove this information before sending. Opening the feedback feature does not automatically send an email.
2. How we use information
We process the information described above to provide focus timing, simulated journeys, history and statistics, rewards and vehicle unlocks, preferences, cross-device synchronization, notifications and Live Activities, and to respond to feedback and privacy requests.
The App does not integrate third-party advertising, behavioral analytics, or cross-app tracking SDKs. It does not access advertising identifiers, sell personal information, or use focus records for targeted advertising. We do not operate our own backend server to receive focus records.
3. Permissions, widgets, and Live Activities
The App may request notification permission to provide focus-related reminders. You can change this permission in system settings. Declining notifications does not prevent basic focus timing.
Apple’s widgets and Live Activities may display your vehicle, focus progress, remaining time, and related status on your Home Screen, Lock Screen, or Dynamic Island. The App and its extension exchange necessary vehicle and language preferences through shared storage on your device. You can manage these displays through system settings. Information shown on the Lock Screen may be visible to anyone who can view your screen.
Background sounds are audio playback only. The App does not require microphone permission or record surrounding audio. It does not require access to your contacts, camera, or photo library.
4. Service providers and disclosures
The App uses Apple services including iCloud / CloudKit, MapKit, notifications, widgets, and Live Activities. Apple and its applicable service providers process relevant information as needed to deliver these features. Apple Maps in China uses mapping services provided by Amap. The App does not directly integrate the Amap SDK.
Please see Apple’s Privacy Policy and Apple Maps & Privacy for Apple’s practices. Feedback emails are also handled by the email providers used by you and us.
Apart from the service processing described in this policy, disclosures you request or authorize, and disclosures necessary to meet applicable legal obligations or respond to valid legal requests, we do not disclose personal information we hold to other parties.
5. Retention, security, and deletion
Local records and settings generally remain on your device for your continued use. iCloud copies support cross-device synchronization; their retention and backups depend on your Apple Account settings and Apple’s services. We rely on system sandboxing, iCloud access controls, and transport protection to reduce unauthorized access risks. No storage or transmission method can be guaranteed completely secure.
Deleting the App removes the App data normally stored on that device. Uninstalling the App or disabling synchronization does not necessarily delete iCloud copies or system backups. Data may return after you reinstall the App and enable synchronization. To remove cloud data, use Apple’s iCloud storage and app data management facilities. Where necessary, disable the App’s synchronization on associated devices first to prevent remaining copies from synchronizing again. Available controls depend on your operating system and Apple’s services. Contact us if you need help understanding the available options.
We retain feedback emails only as long as needed to address the issue, conduct necessary follow-up, or meet legal obligations, then delete or anonymize them. You may request deletion of feedback information we hold. We cannot directly operate on your device’s local data or manage your Apple Account for you.
6. Your choices and rights
You can view focus records in the App, change preferences, manage notifications and Live Activities, and control the App’s access to iCloud through system settings. Disabling iCloud may prevent cross-device synchronization; basic local features remain available.
Subject to applicable law, you may request access, correction, deletion, restriction of processing, or a copy of personal information we hold, or withdraw relevant consent. You may also complain to a competent supervisory authority. Contact us at the address below. We will verify requests only as necessary and respond within applicable legal time limits. For information managed by Apple, we will explain the relevant management options.
7. Children and minors
We do not provide the App for the purpose of collecting minors’ personal information. Minors should use the App with parental or guardian guidance or consent where required by applicable law. If you believe a minor has sent us personal information that should not be retained, contact us so we can review the matter and take appropriate action.
8. Changes and contact
We may update this policy as features or applicable requirements change and revise the effective date. We will provide appropriate notice of material changes to how personal information is processed and obtain consent where required by law.
